In-Ground Worm Composter

In-Ground Worm Composter

Turn Kitchen Scraps Into Garden Gold—Right Where Your Plants Need It!

The Vego Garden In-Ground Worm Composter makes it easy to turn everyday kitchen scraps into nutrient-rich vermicompost directly inside your raised garden bed. Simply bury the composter in the soil, add composting worms and organic material, and let the worms do what they do best!

The openings below the soil allow worms to move between the composter and your garden bed, carrying beneficial microorganisms and nutrients throughout the surrounding soil. Meanwhile, ventilation holes near the top provide airflow to help control moisture and odors.

We love this system because it keeps worm composting simple, contained, and right where your plants can benefit from it. It is a great choice for gardeners who want healthier soil, less kitchen waste, and an easy way to experience the benefits of vermicomposting without maintaining a separate worm bin.

How It Works

Bury the composter approximately 11 inches deep, leaving the upper ventilation holes exposed above the soil. Add moist bedding, composting worms, and small amounts of appropriate kitchen scraps. The worms will break down the material and create rich vermicompost while moving through the openings into your garden soil.

For larger raised beds, Vego Garden recommends using two or three composters for better distribution of worm castings throughout the bed.

Which Worms Should You Use?

For this composter, we recommend our Garden Worm Mix. This diverse mix is specifically chosen for outdoor gardens, allowing different worms to work at varying depths throughout the soil. Together, they help process organic material, distribute nutrients, improve soil structure, and support healthier plant growth.
