A Natural, Safe & Effective Bedding for Your Worms!

Shredded cardboard is one of the best bedding materials for composting worms! It provides the perfect balance of moisture retention, airflow, and carbon that worms need to stay healthy, active, and productive. At Utah Worm Company, we believe in keeping worm farming simple, affordable, and effective!

Why Worms Love Shredded Cardboard

• Excellent Moisture Retention: Holds moisture to help create the damp environment worms need to breathe and thrive.
• Improves Airflow: Shredded cardboard creates air pockets throughout the bedding, helping prevent compaction.
• A Natural Carbon Source: Provides essential carbon and slowly breaks down into organic matter.
• Encourages Healthy Worm Activity: Creates a comfortable environment for worms to move, feed, and reproduce.
• Perfect for Vermicomposting: Works great for Red Wigglers, European Nightcrawlers, and other composting worms.

Is Cardboard Really Safe for Worms?

Absolutely! Despite some common myths, clean, plain cardboard is an excellent and widely used bedding material for composting worms. The key is avoiding unnecessary materials such as tape, stickers, glossy coatings, and heavily printed surfaces.

Our shredded cardboard is sticker-free, tape-free, and ink-free, giving you peace of mind about what you’re putting into your worm bins.

Easy to Use – Just Add Water!

Simply soak the shredded cardboard in water, squeeze out the excess until it feels like a wrung-out sponge, and fluff it into your worm bin. Use it alone or mix it with your favorite composting materials.

Clean bedding. Happy worms. Better composting!
